High Fashion Commercial Visual Announcement

Good Day classmate, friends, or daily stalker??? Today in my TV Production class we were assigned the task of delivering a PSA/Commercial for a brand, event, or news of our choice. I decided to do a commercial for my business, High Fashion LLC Boutique. Within this video I showcased all of my current inventory and collections in addition to telling the history of my business. I decided to choose my business because my overall goal is to be a self-sufficient entrepreneur. Creating commercials and PSAs will continue down the line, so this was perfect practice and a head start on my goals!

Fun Fact: Did you know that "High Fashion" was not the original name for my boutique?

Click the linked video below to find out the original name <3 !

TAKE AWAY:

This assignment was fun for me! Yet again, any assignment that allows me to get my brand out there will always bring me great joy. I wish I could have spent more time on it to really bring my AD together, but I do have the basics for a commercial/standard PSA. This assignment really taught me the importance of a "call to action." Without a "call to action" what is the point of the commercial?

Thank you all for reading, watching, listening to my blog. I really hope to see y'all next time, and don't forget to meet me in the stars!

10 Action Sequence feat. Sean Smith

Good Day classmate, friends, or daily stalker??? Today in my TV Production class we took action sequence shots. Professor Harwood insisted that we get 10 different action sequence shots for this assignment, and that was surely accomplished. My partner, Sean Smith (model/subject) and I (Shamari Blanding; producer for this project) decided to do an "An After Class Quest" to broadcast to our audience what Sean does after Professor Harwood's class has ended. As you can see, we have Dr. Harwood as one of our main stars of the show in the beginning.

Watch "AN After Class Quest" below.

TAKE AWAY:

This assignment was fun for me! I love doing things that makes my classmates and I get more hands on. I learned that getting various shots from a variety of angles will increase your audience's attention span. It also makes creating fun. It is a lot of work getting the right shots and continuously moving the camera; However, when the video is finally finished; the overall product comes together nicely!

Thank you all for reading, watching, listening to my blog. I really hope to see y'all next time, and don't forget to meet me in the stars!

Learning Three Point Lighting

Good Day classmates, friends, or daily stalker??? In my TV Media Production class we learned about and tested our knowledge on three point lighting. Within the topic of three point lighting we have our key light, fill light, and backlight. All three of these lights have different jobs, but are needed all together to provide better lighting no matter the environment and genre of broadcasting. My classmate Jalyn Woodbury (model) and I (Shamari Blanding; producer for this project) are here to share our experience with this assignment.

(Before adding any light).... Jalyn and I started off with no lighting. It is recommended to document your results before adding the enhanced lighting that will make vast changes.

(wide shot-before lighting)... we still did not add any lighting within our wide shots either. When the lights are on, they enhance the lighting in the background as well.

(After adding the Key light)... The key light is the main light being used when focusing on a subject. It is depended on by directors, producers, photographers, videographers, and broadcasters.

(Next we have the fill light)... The fill light's definition is just like its name! It is used to fill in the spaces where we may need more light! So when the Key light isn't enough, then we will use the fill light for that extra boost in luminosity.

(After using the Back Light)... Lastly, we turned on the backlight to get the brighter picture...get it? The back light is used to enhance both the key light and fill light thus, fully completing the lighting for the subject.

THE FINAL PRODUCT :

ALL LIGHTS ON

TAKE AWAY:

Today I learned about the great importance of lighting when it comes to broadcasting, photography, and videography. Lighting is the exact tool that draws our audience in, no matter the demographic. I also didn't know about how much lighting goes into a lot of broadcasting projects or interviews. This was another fun assignment because it was different and very hands on.

Getting Lit with Light Reflecting Disks

Good Day classmates, friends, or daily stalker? In class, we learned about reflector disks. Reflector disks are often used by news reporters, directors, and various creators to enhance lighting in poorly-lit environments. Today, my team members Carroll Kelley (model), D'Vonte Allen (camera man), RJ Staeadman (disk holder), and I (Shamari Blanding; producer for project) took turns in experimenting with the disk.

(Before adding the disk) We started off without using the reflector disk. We wanted to see the difference in lighting when we decided to add the disk after. As you can see, we didn't catch Carroll at a good time here.

(After we added the disk)... As you can see, around Carroll's face and torso area; the lighting improved GREATLY. We can see his face a lot clearly in this shot. The lighting improved vastly only from using a disk pointed at an angle and sunlight, how cool!

Here is a wide shot of my group members and the reflector in action!

More of the reflector in action. This light is brighter in person!

Last but not least, RJ was our holder for the reflector disk experiment!
He shows a silly face in victory of a successful assignment.

TAKE AWAY:
I had so much fun doing this assignment and what made it even better was to be outside and do something different for class today. I learned that I do not have to use. a ring light or artificial light to enhance my environments with poor lighting.  I can simply use a tool that will reflect the light already being distributed; and by using an angle, I can control that light to be beneficial for whatever project/ task that I am seeking to complete.

Thank you all for reading, watching, listening to my blog! I'll see you next time on another update. Don't forget to meet me in the stars!
